Garden influenced linos.

(Rosemary) As one of my favourite methods of printmaking is linos! During the 1st Lockdown I used my garden as inspiration. I photographed some of my favourite potted plants such as Rosemary, Bay leaf and an Olive tree, to then trace over and reference from to create this series of prints.
(Olive tree) For the colour I wanted an earthy green which also stood out. So I kept mixing inks until I got this vibrant but subtle shade, what I also like about this pigment is that it represents each plant very well and shows contrast between the paper and ink.
(Bay leaf tree) I wanted the shape of the leaf to resemble and suggest what the plant was therefore thats why I made all the other variables the same such as the colour of printing ink and size of the lino block. Also this makes them a very satisfying series.
